Treatment of TMJ Problems

Tempro-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction Syndrome (TMJ) is a common condition affecting a wide variety of people.

The symptoms can greatly interfere with a person’s everyday life and can affect the ability to eat, chew, swallow, speak, make facial expressions, and even breathe. Whatever the cause, the results may include varying degrees of pain in the jaw and surrounding tissues, limitations in jaw movements, pounding headaches, grinding teeth and an intermittent ringing in the ears and could worsen during periods of prolonged or unexpected stress, that intense outbreaks of the condition can lead to neck pain and dizziness.

The vast majority of TMJ sufferers are unaware that the root cause of these problems is something that a dentist can effectively treat. At Dr. Rocco’s Specialized Dental Center the comfort and general well-being of the patient is our concern so pain relief is the first consideration.
